The principal activity of Harcourt Life Assurance Designated Activity Company (the “Company”) is the provision of investment oriented life assurance and pension products to individuals in Ireland through the management of its existing business and the identification of expansion opportunities through acquisitions. The Company is closed to new business and continues to pursue the orderly run off of its business.
Whilst the Company is closed to new business, its contractual and regulatory obligations continue to be met in full and existing policyholders are unaffected.
Harcourt Life commenced writing business in Ireland in January 2001. Its business consists mainly of personal and collective portfolio bond products. These portfolio bonds include investments in property, bond, equity and cash assets.
As at 31 December 2016:

- Net Assets held on behalf of policyholders – €95.5m
- The solvency coverage of the Company – 436%
- Total Assets – €255m
